NZ House & Garden - - TALKBACK -

As a multimedia artist I’m often on the lookout for colourful bits and pieces, including tiles. For the past couple of years the tile shops have disappointed greatly; a five-minute browse tells me they haven’t yet moved on from their palette of grey/ black/white/cream and beige. Sadly that’s how I found your August issue too. Bland. All those expensive and monotoned renovations, with their ubiquitous seethrough or shell-shaped chairs, Eames birds, pendant/industrial lights and fake deer heads, gave me a five-minute read this month. Thank goodness for the originality and colour of Robyn Gibson’s Flowers and TV artwork on page 161. Any chance of getting a look inside her home? June Peka, Christchurch
