Scent from heaven

Spring calls for fresh floral fragrance

NZ House & Garden - - ANTENNA / THE BIG IDEA -

Gone are the musky, spicy scents of winter; it’s time to welcome fresh garden fragrances into your home. Flowers will do the trick, but what about more long-lasting options? “Diffusers provide a more passive and continuous fragrance,” says Julia Atkinson from Ecoya. “Being flameless they require less maintenance – perfect for areas in the home where you might not spend a lot of time, like a hallway or bathroom.” Candles give a greater fragrance throw and add ambience. When using your candle for the first time, Julia suggests burning for at least an hour, allowing the wax pool to reach the edge to prevent tunnelling. To get the most out of your candle, trim the wick to around 6mm each time you use it.
