BRING ON THE ROSÉ

Kiwi winemakers produce lots of great rosé, and from a variety of grapes. I enjoyed The Hunting Lodge Winery’s recent “crowd-blending” – I was one of more than 500 punters giving the winemaker input on this summer’s limited edition pinot noir rosé blend. My other go-to rosés are Clearview Estate’s Black Reef Blush (merlot, malbec and chambourcin) at $22, Esk Valley’s (merlot) from $14.99, and Jules Taylor’s (merlot) at $22.99 a bottle.
