Christ­mas lilies around the tree or find­ing a wrap­ping pa­per I love. I en­joy mak­ing tra­di­tional food with a modern twist. Each year I make the pav a lit­tle dif­fer­ent, for ex­am­ple with lemon curd and al­monds or straw­berry/fruit com­potes and can­dyfloss. This year I’m mak­ing parcels of mid-Can­ter­bury pro­duce – The Good Oil, Mount Somers m¯anuka honey, Lat­i­tude mag­a­zine and, if I’m all up to date, a small Christ­mas cake from a very old handed­down recipe with lovely brandy-but­ter ic­ing.
