My decorating style: Definitely eclectic, which is a polite way of saying I’m all over the place. A lot of the time I know what I don’t like better then I know what I like. (Kiri) I don’t really have a decorating style. I’m the logistics man – demolition is my speciality. (James)
This time of year is special: We close our tourism business for three weeks over Christmas, which means I get to put my family first instead of being preoccupied with walkers’ needs. (Kiri)
The kids come home and we’re all together, which is rare now they’ve all spread their wings. (James)
My favourite Christmas ritual: I make a Christmas cake using a family recipe. My grandmother always said everyone has to stir the mixture for luck so every couple of days we have turns drenching it with brandy and by the time Christmas arrives it has quite a kick. (Kiri) Putting cake and beer out for Santa and a carrot for the reindeer. Something we still do even though the kids are all grown up. (James)
