I am one of the lucky Australians who, via a gift subscription from my mother-in-law, has received a copy of NZ House & Garden for the past few years. Lockdowns because of Covid hotspots caused my birthday party at our local Greek restaurant to be cancelled. No big deal, I thought, compared to other major life events many have had to forgo.
