If you go down to Greytown, you’re in for a big surprise. The town has transformed itself into a hub of stylish clothing and homewares stores, such as The Design Library, Deluxe and Lili & Co. You can’t visit Wairarapa without popping into Country Trader on the outskirts of Greytown, a former dairy factory filled with highly covetable antiques and interior furniture from throughout the world. If books are more your thing, head to the superb Mrs Blackwell’s Village Bookshop on Main St (below), where Millie Blackwell recently transformed a former clothing store into this temple to the written word, based on the bookstores she frequents in the US, where she and husband Adam like to spend six months each year.
