ADVICE FOR OTHER HOMEOWNERS: Paint colour is a quick and cost-effective way to change the look and feel of your home. Choose colours that you like and feel good, for example some people are naturally drawn to blues, others to green. Some like clean fresh spaces, others like moody.

BEST DECORATING TIP: Mastering the concept of flow. This can be with a product, colour or lighting. Have something that you like that you can see a hint of from room to room, that ties one space to the next.

BIGGEST RENOVATION DELIGHT: The outcome of the dark circular bathroom. I really enjoy the mosaic-look flooring and the free-standing central bath. The space has a 3500mm-high ceiling with a skylight so you can look up at the sky and stars when you’re bathing. And being able to use the original cabinet that is curved and installing a new stone top, basin and tap. I love the dark walls against the white bath, basin and toilet.

BEST MONEY SPENT: Replacing the old timber windows, which needed a lot of work to restore, with double-glazed black aluminium windows.
