Wallpapers
Wallpapers are here to stay. Textured grasscloth-style wallpapers are perennially popular but have become more textured and warmer in colour. According to wallpaper company Graham & Brown, delicate and unobtrusive floras and faunas help to create comforting spaces that allow you to relax and unwind. Designs that mimic tiles are coming to the fore along with Mediterranean-inspired styles – these are nostalgic in nature, giving a sense of safety and tranquillity, says Graham & Brown. Terry Isaako of wallpaper supply company Aspiring Walls is seeing bolder designs: “Expect in 2022 to see abstract everything… from botanical designs and art deco/ retro forms to strong Asian-inspired motifs. Designs that are familiar, but abstracted to fit the modern interior. There is also some noticeable periwinkle/ ultra-violet colouring starting to make an appearance in some designs which is fitting, given it is Pantone’s colour of the year.”
