With the Apprenticeship Boost ending in August 2022, the sooner people enrol in Certificates and Apprenticeships, the more benefit employers will receive from the Government.

This is the scheme born out of Covid-19, which promises to pay employers up to $16,000 per apprentice to either employ or retain those apprentices, up until August 2022. The money is paid directly to employers by the Ministry of Social Development (MSD). For first-year apprentices, this is worth $1,000 a month, and for the second year it is $500 a month. Employers can apply for an Apprenticeship Boost through the MSD.
