NZ Landscaper Magazine

RENEWED FOCUS

-

What a year! While many of us, myself included, thought 2021 might have been a bit more predictable than 2020, it was certainly anything but. However, while work has been challenging with lockdowns and material shortages, our industry is fortunate to have been able to carry on working, at least in some capacity, for most of the year.

I hope you all enjoyed some well-earned time off over the break and have entered the new year with energy and renewed vigour! Several of our members have told us they have jobs lined up all through 2022; we hope they go smoothly – on both a technical and client level. For a very thorough look at what not to do when it comes to client relationship management, check out page 4 – we review a judgement from the Disputes Tribunal that has some strong lessons to take away.

I hope that while relaxing during your break, you’ve had a chance to reflect on past projects which have had time to mature and decided which you are going to enter for the Landscapes of Distinction awards. After a bumper number of entries last year, we are looking to forward to giving the judges a hard time in selecting the best of the best!

While the last thing any of us want to think about is our unexpected passing, as a business owner it can result in more than emotional grief – it can also place an unexpected burden on your loved ones if you aren’t prepared. With this in mind, lawyer Emma Foster explores the different options available to business owners.

We also feature one of our newest members – CGC Ltd – who is absolutely thrilled to be welcomed as a Registered Master Landscaper.

We hope you enjoy this issue of NZ Landscaper Magazine – it’s one of the ways we provide value to our members, a commitment that we will continue to enhance this coming year.

I HOPE YOU ALL ENJOYED SOME WELL-EARNED TIME OFF OVER THE BREAK AND HAVE ENTERED THE NEW YEAR WITH ENERGY AND RENEWED VIGOUR
