To 2 Septem­ber, Auck­land Art Gallery Toi o Tamaki This land­mark show doc­u­ments 30 years of prac­tice by se­nior Maori clay artist Wi Taepa and re­views the breadth, depth, think­ing and tech­niques of one of the most sig­nif­i­cant voices within con­tem­po­rary Maori art. De­vel­oped in part­ner­ship with Pataka Art + Mu­seum, the show traces Taepa’s pro­gres­sion from his ground­ing in matau­ranga Maori through to the in­ter­na­tional ex­pe­ri­ences which have in­formed his prac­tice as an artist and arts ed­u­ca­tor.
