7 July to 22 October (senior artists) 4 August to 25 November (contemporary artists), The Dowse Art Museum, Lower Hutt Tracking the changing interpretation of female identity and feminist ideologies in Aotearoa’s artistic landscape over 40 years this largescale two-part exhibition focuses on a cluster of senior and contemporary women artists. The first instalment includes Pauline Rhodes, Vivian Lynn, Maureen Lander, Ruth Buchanan and Christine Hellyar followed by Alicia Frankovich, Sriwhana Spong and the Mata Aho Collective, a collaboration of four Maori women – Erena Baker, Sarah Hudson, Bridget Reweti and Terri Te Tau – who have created a site-specific work which literally and figuratively weaves through the gallery and out into the world. dowse.org.nz
