7 July to 22 October (senior artists) 4 August to 25 November (contempora­ry artists), The Dowse Art Museum, Lower Hutt Tracking the changing interpreta­tion of female identity and feminist ideologies in Aotearoa’s artistic landscape over 40 years this largescale two-part exhibition focuses on a cluster of senior and contempora­ry women artists. The first instalment includes Pauline Rhodes, Vivian Lynn, Maureen Lander, Ruth Buchanan and Christine Hellyar followed by Alicia Frankovich, Sriwhana Spong and the Mata Aho Collective, a collaborat­ion of four Maori women – Erena Baker, Sarah Hudson, Bridget Reweti and Terri Te Tau – who have created a site-specific work which literally and figurative­ly weaves through the gallery and out into the world. dowse.org.nz
