To 18 November, Dunedin Public Art Gallery The presence of textiles in artworks and sculpture in Dunedin Public Art Gallery’s collection comes under the spotlight in a show which seeks to explore the disparate and shifting roles of fabric in recent artistic practices. An examination of sculptures from the 1970s through to the present day provides a platform through which to observe how textiles are implicated in art – be it the raw material of cloth or fibre, the historic associations of textile media or the conceptual use of textiles within contemporary art. dunedin.art.museum
