To 18 Novem­ber, Dunedin Public Art Gallery The pres­ence of tex­tiles in art­works and sculp­ture in Dunedin Public Art Gallery’s col­lec­tion comes un­der the spot­light in a show which seeks to ex­plore the dis­parate and shift­ing roles of fab­ric in re­cent artis­tic prac­tices. An ex­am­i­na­tion of sculp­tures from the 1970s through to the present day pro­vides a plat­form through which to ob­serve how tex­tiles are im­pli­cated in art – be it the raw ma­te­rial of cloth or fi­bre, the his­toric as­so­ci­a­tions of tex­tile me­dia or the con­cep­tual use of tex­tiles within con­tem­po­rary art. dunedin.art.mu­seum
