Friday’s Flock

8 to 17 November, Circa Theatre, Wellington A gem of a tale which reaches into the heart of regional Aotearoa, Friday’s Flock is a solo show featuring five local characters — a townie café owner, a widowed farmer and a dog included — who interconnect on a Friday at the historic SaleYards Café in Feilding. The poignant little comedy traverses wry humour, sorrow, romance, renewal and death, and was penned by Manawatū schoolteacher Reihana Haronga after lunching at the real-life café next to the town’s agricultural sale yards.
