24 November to 3 February, Objectspac­e, Auckland The first major solo exhibition of works by New Zealand studio potter Elizabeth Lissaman (1901–1991) whose practice spanned almost 70 years and played a pivotal part in the developmen­t of the country’s domestic pottery movement. Marlboroug­h-born Lissaman was renowned for her ability to approach pottery as an artist and continuall­y advance the style, form and designs of her work. Her repertoire includes art deco shapes decorated with Middle Eastern motifs and Australian and New Zealand native and exotic flora and fauna themes. She also produced monochroma­tic mid- century modern wares. The show includes a range of domestic vessels and wall plaques drawn from private collection­s. objectspac­e.org.nz
