Colourfield: An Installation by Emma Prill

-

10 November to 24 February, Tauranga Art Gallery Toi Tauranga Tauranga artist Emma Prill transforms the atrium at Tauranga Art Gallery with a giant installation of layered imaginary flowers across three largescale walls. The striking composition includes more than 1000 flower heads made from layered laser- cut cardboard, three- dimensional handcut canvas and diverse paint textures. The artist has collaborated with community groups and schoolchildren to create the blooms, some of which reference Aotearoa’s native flora, the flower markets of India and the tropical gardens and reefs of Fiji. artgallery.org.nz
