Leo van Geel says his new Kioti CK3710 tractor has been a godsend. He has used it to clean up his large Te Puna lifestyle block, which was in pretty bad shape when he bought it a year ago. Leo knew he had to get a good tractor to undertake the extensive clean up needed on the property. “I learned my lesson years ago that you think you can do the job with an old tractor to save some money, but in the end the old tractor doesn’t do the job and you end up spending more money on it than if you had just bought a decent one,” he says. “I went to Capital Tractors in Tauranga as soon as we moved in here last October. They showed me the different models and sizes available and I knew I had to go for the Kioti CK3710. You need the right tractor for the job and if it’s too small you will regret it.” “The paddocks needed a lot of maintenance. We ripped out all the fencing and cleaned up all the ditches around the property and revitalised the land,” he says. “I also bought a mulcher and there are various lifting jobs we need to do because it’s a big tidy up that we’re doing. The tractor has good hydraulic power to lift things and the four-in-one bucket is definitely my favourite feature, with the additional grabbing ability. You can scoop things and also pull them.” Leo says the CK3710 is comfortable and easy to operate with the three-range hydrostatic drive.
