5 ways to control guava moths
■ USE a pheromone trap (buy them online or from garden centres) to catch male moths.
■ HANG solar-powered moth traps around your orchard.
■ SPRAY neem oil onto the fruit as it's forming.
■ COVER trees in a fine weave mesh while fruit is still growing (before it starts ripening) or cover branches or individual fruit if the tree is too big.
■ REMOVE any fruit that falls immediately. Feed to livestock, or put in sealed bags in the bin
– don't add to compost, as the pupae may still hatch.
