ROMANIA QUALIFY FOR RWC 2019

Romania have secured their place at the 2019 World Cup a er Spain su ered a shock loss to Belgium.

Spain came into the final game of the Rugby Europe Championship in pole position, knowing that victory against Belgium would see them qualify for the first time since 1999.

But the unfancied Belgians won 18-10. That meant Romania finished top and will take their place in Pool A alongside Scotland, Ireland and Japan and they will have the honour of playing the hosts in the opening game.

Spain still have a chance of qualifying through the repêchage programme.
