The talk all week had been about whether the All Blacks could deal with the ghosts of their past.

They were play­ing a World Cup quar­ter­fi­nal in Cardiff against France eight years af­ter they had lost a World Cup quar­ter­fi­nal in Cardiff against France.

It turned out there were no ghosts on the night and the All Blacks de­stroyed the French with a nine-try blitz that saw them play the most stun­ning rugby and an­nounce their readi­ness and ea­ger­ness to re­tain their ti­tle.
