30 BEAUDEN TIPPED ON HIS HEAD
The second test against France was 12 minutes old when it was eectively finished by a major controversy.
Beauden Barrett had jumped to take a high ball and while he was in the air, he was taken out by French fullback Benjamin Fall.
In real time, it looked entirely unintentional. Fall was bumped in his run up, lost his bearings and appeared to be trying to get out of the way of Barrett.
But referee Angus Gardner said he had no choice under the letter of the law but to show a red card.
The real circus began in the following week when a judiciary hearing said a red card was the wrong call and Fall was able to play in the third test.
That then led to World Rugby agreeing to give referees greater powers to use their discretion if they felt contact was accidental.
