MOODY LOCKED IN FOR THREE YEARS

-

In the ongoing battle to retain the best talent, New Zealand Rugby are celebrating Joe Moody’s decision to sign on for another three years.

The loose-head prop had a horror season with injuries – recovering from a shoulder surgery last year only to break his finger in a club game when he returned. He then broke his thumb in the second Bledisloe Cup game and once he made it back from that, he played one more game before suffering a freak accident in training where his eye-lid was ripped open and he required three layers of stitches and plastic surgery to fix it.

But none of that has put the 29-year-old off staying in New Zealand until 2022.

“I still feel like I have a lot to contribute to rugby here in New Zealand, so at this stage, I can’t see myself anywhere else,” Moody said.

“It is important to me to stay loyal to the teams that have shown faith in me throughout my rugby career, and I’m loving my time among a world-class forward pack with the All Blacks and the Crusaders.”
