21 BLUES WIN AT ELLIS PARK

It was another awful season for the Blues. They started badly and got worse, winning just four games.

Amazingly, one of those victories came at Ellis Park against the Lions. They couldn’t win at Eden Park until the final week but they could go to Johannesburg and defeat the second best team in the competition.

It was a near miraculous e•ort and what made it that more unbelievable was the control, discipline and bravery the Blues showed in the final quarter to storm back to win at the death when Murphy Taramai crashed over under the posts.

BRIGHT LIGHT The Blues had an awful season but this last minute try at Ellis Park gave them a remarkable victory.
