29 CHRIS BOYD’S STRANGE ACCUSATION

-

In February Hurricanes coach Chris Boyd revealed he would be leaving at the end of the campaign.

He had taken a job as director of rugby in Northampton. He gave the impression he was sad to be going, but that he had no other career options in New Zealand to pursue.

Then, quite strangely, as questions came about the forthcoming season and how he saw some of his players fitting into the All Blacks’ plans, he said he was clueless about all that.

He said he was also not consulted about the All Blacks’ plans to run a couple of training camps during the season.

“I haven’t spoken to Steve Hansen in three years so nothing changes in that space.”

Hansen shrugged his shoulders at that one…confirming it wasn’t true and Boyd’s motives for ever saying it was, remain a mystery.
