33 BRAD WEBER BLASTS ISRAEL FOLAU

-

Israel Folau made global headlines in April when he posted some inflammatory messages about his views on homosexuals on a social media site.

They are not worth repeating as they were nasty and wrong. They also came at a time when rugby is trying harder than ever to be inclusive and diverse.

There was public outrage at what Folau said but Chiefs halfback Brad Weber was the first player to decide he’d speak out about his fellow professional.

“I can’t stand that I have to play this game that I love with people, like Folau, who say what he’s saying,” Weber posted on his Twitter account.

“My cousin and her partner, and my Aunty and her partner are some of the most kind, caring and loving people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.

“To think that I play against someone that says they’ll go to Hell for being gay disgusts me.”
