RISING STAR: BILLY PROCTOR

Tempting to say Salesi Rayasi, given what he did for the All Blacks Sevens and Auckland teams this year, but the young Hurricane they’re all talking about up at “HQ” is Billy Proctor.

Not 20 till May, Proctor was signed to a five-year deal by the Hurricanes who are happy to predict big things for him.

A second five-eighth during Wellington’s 2018 provincial campaign, Proctor is seen more as a centre by the Hurricanes.

The intriguing part of that is 13 is the jumper his big brother Matt’s worn with some distinction.

An All Black last year, Matt Proctor is entitled to a prolonged run at centre in 2019 and it would be ironic if it was his brother who prevented that.
