1: RiCHaRD BUCkmaN
Known by everyone as the Baracuda, Richard Buckman was the unlikeliest looking rugby player.
Pasty white and awkward in movement with no obvious athleticism, Buckman never gave the impression he was going to cause many problems on the field.
But he was a surprisingly good package. He was quicker than he looked and strong. He read the game brilliantly, could play across the backline and tackled with all his heart.
He was good enough to pique the interest of the All Blacks selectors and he became a champion for easy going, non-athletic types everywhere.
