JOSH IOANE [HIGHLANDERS]

Strengths: He’s confident and bold. He’s got a good running game and a much improved kicking game and a cool head under pressure.

Knows how to put together a performance and then back it up the next week. Played exceptionally well in 2019 and was showing good form in the latter half of 2020 when he returned from injury.

Weaknesses: Doesn’t seem to be sure yet whether he’s a No 10 or No 12. Needs to commit to one and hopefully new coach Tony Brown will allow that to happen and use Ioane in one role all campaign.

Goal Kicking: Excellent.

Is he a future All Black? He’s won a cap and could win more this year if he is installed at No 10 by the Highlanders and given a full campaign there.
