Three Key Men
It's a case of the usual suspects for the Chiefs in 2021, with Cane, McKenzie and Boshier being the real difference-makers for the side. Cane is an absolute workhorse; the kind of player who will try to put his team on his back and carry them. Hopefully for the Chiefs it doesn't come to that, but Cane will be the consummate professional week after week
As he has been for the past couple of seasons, McKenzie will be the man they look to for inspiration on attack. He settled into the fullback role nicely in 2020 and tried to create when he got the chance on attack.
Expect more of the same from the veteran this season, with McKenzie's running game being an important part of the Chiefs' attacking plan.
For Boshier, 2020 saw him take over Brodie Retallick's mantle as the Chiefs' biggest pest at the breakdown. With a knack for getting over the ball and securing turnovers, as well as a physical defensive skillset and some strong ball carrying ability, Boshier can impact the game on both sides of the ball. If he continues to have his way at the breakdown, the Chiefs will better off.
