Getting the Right Mix
With the return of Liam Square, the make up of the loose trio all of a sudden becomes a big decision. In 2020, Marion Mikaele-Tu'u emerged as a star at No8 while Shannon Frizell played on the blindside. With Squire returning, does he reclaim the role on the side of the scrum and if so what does that mean for Frizell? The 13-test All Black is capable at both lock and in the back row, which makes things tougher to an extent as it means there are more potential combinations that could be deployed. Could Squire, Frizell and Mikaele-Tu'u make up the back trio? If that's the case, where does new recruit Billy Harmon fit in the plan? There is a lot to work out here.
