MEN’S SEVENS PLAYER OF THE YEAR

-

SCOTT CURRY may be playing the best rugby of his career into his early 30s and it’s his relentless work rate that has again made him New Zealand’s best.

Playing big minutes in brutally hot and humid conditions in Tokyo, Curry was the ultimate “follow me” leader. Always in support, often making a break, willing to do the tough stuff and make another gutbusting play, Curry was like a man possessed in the Olympic final. Alas, even he couldn’t get the All Blacks Sevens home against a wonderful Fiji side, and while a silver medal may still burn, Curry poured every bit of himself into earning it.
