TERRIFIC TALENT

-

WILL JORDAN scored 15 tries in his 11 tests and crossed for at least one in nine of those 11. He is a superb finisher, of that there is no question, but he can also create tries for himself, and for others. There are questions about his ability under the highball - an aspect of his game that was shown up by the Springboks - and his defence, but wings aren’t really picked for their defence.

John Kirwan was suspect on defence but is correctly regarded as an All Blacks great, and for that matter Jonah Lomu was poor under kicks and also slow to turn for chips through but that never weighed more heavily than his attacking prowess. It is the same for Jordan. As long as he scores more tries than he concedes, who really cares.
