October 19th-21st 2018 Novawinch ‘Battle of the Palace

– Teams Event 2018 at Possum Palace, Northland. Norwest OHV Club is pleased to announce that we are hosting the Novawinch ‘ Battle of the Palace – Teams Event 2018’ over Labour weekend this October at Possum Palace in Northland. Open to all competitor­s who are members of the New Zealand 4WD Associatio­n ( NZFWDA). Vehicles will have to meet Norwest OHV Club requiremen­ts and a minimum requiremen­t of extreme mud t yres. More in depth details are included with the entry forms. The event is limited to 12 teams. The cost per Team is $ 450 with a $ 50 discount to entries that are paid prior to the 1st August Gates open on Friday 19th Oct, competitio­n runs over Sat 20th and Sunday 21st October ( Monday 22nd is a holiday). All competitor­s are in with a chance of a sponsor prize as drivers names are drawn randomly, so whether you’re first or last you could still walk away with the top prize. November 10th 2018 NZFWDA National 4x4 Trial – Round One;

A National 4x4 Trial is based upon the ability of Competitor­s to drive their vehicles over difficult terrain, including hill climbs, water courses, mud bogs, up steep hills, over rocks, ruts, along banks and a speed section. Open to the public and spectator friendly, the NZ National 4x4 Trials Series comprises of one- day events hosted by NZFWDA affiliated clubs around the country. November 24th-25th 2018 Novawinch Manukau Winch Challenge;

Hosted by Manukau 4WD Club. Saturday stages, Saturday night stages and half day Sunday at last year’s venue in Maramarua. 3 classes: Challenge, Outlaw, and Club Class. January 25th-28th 2019 Motu School East Cape Safari 2019;

Auckland Anniversar­y Weekend. The safari begins at Motu School on 25th January and weaves in and out the East Coast region and usually finishes at the Raukokere Church on January 28th. The Safari tours through the backblocks of the East Coast with incredible views and interestin­g experience­s on the way, travelling forests, farms, rivers and tracks. The aim is to travel cross country as far as possible and practical, as always the weather has the ultimate say. The Safari is designed as a family affair, but will have enough interest to keep the more adventurou­s entertaine­d. Camping areas arranged ( BYO tents and comforts). Evening meals will be available to purchase. More details following registrati­on. All vehicles to be registered and warranted so you comply with the forestry permit. All vehicles to have minimum of third party insurance. You need this to comply with the school liability policy. Cost is $ 500 per vehicle and spaces are limited, the Safari will be capped at 85.
