Jan­uary 25th-28th 2019 Motu School East Cape Sa­fari 2019;

Auck­land An­niver­sary Week­end. The sa­fari be­gins at Motu School on 25th Jan­uary and weaves in and out the East Coast re­gion and usu­ally fin­ishes at the Raukokere Church on Jan­uary 28th. It tours through the back blocks of the East Coast trav­el­ing cross coun­try as far as pos­si­ble and prac­ti­cal, though as al­ways the weather has the ul­ti­mate say. The Sa­fari is de­signed as a fam­ily af­fair, with enough in­ter­est to keep the more ad­ven­tur­ous en­ter­tained. Camp­ing ar­eas ar­ranged ( BYO tents and com­forts). Evening meals will be avail­able to pur­chase. More de­tails fol­low­ing regis­tra­tion. All ve­hi­cles to be reg­is­tered and war­ranted so you com­ply with the forestry per­mit. All ve­hi­cles to have min­i­mum of third party in­sur­ance. You need this to com­ply with the school li­a­bil­ity pol­icy. Cost is $ 500 per ve­hi­cle and spa­ces are lim­ited, the Sa­fari will be capped at 85. It will be on a “first in, first served” ba­sis. Fundrais­ing for Can­teen. Set­tlers Honey are sup­port­ing the event with ac­cess to their Nga­mat­apouri, Makowhai Sta­tion high up the Waito­tara Val­ley, north from Wan­ganui. The trip is open to any 4wd or SUV. We will have tracks suit­able for the most shiny SUV as well as more chal­leng­ing ar­eas for ca­pa­ble off road trucks. Cost $ 175.00 per ve­hi­cle. March 23rd-24th 2019 Here­worth 4WD Sa­fari – The Horonui 4WD Run;

The Here­worth Old Boys’ As­so­ci­a­tion 8th bi-an­nual Here­worth 4WD trip will be based in and around Horonui, (15 min­utes south of Hast­ings) in Hawke's Bay, cross­ing pri­vate farm­land across a va­ri­ety of ter­rain. Ac­com­mo­da­tion will be camp­ing in a cen­tral lo­ca­tion with ac­cess to wa­ter and toi­let fa­cil­i­ties. Num­bers are strictly lim­ited so be in quick. Price in­cludes a two course meal Fri­day and Satur­day night, two full cooked break­fasts, two lunches, hot bev­er­ages at the camp­site, ac­cess to pri­vate prop­er­ties on des­ig­nated 4WD routes, camp­ing at a sin­gle camp­site ( treks will be in a clover­leaf fash­ion). Event regis­tra­tion starts on Fri­day af­ter­noon at Here­worth School with later ar­rivals able to reg­is­ter at base camp on Satur­day. All ve­hi­cles to have cur­rent War­rant of Fit­ness and a min­i­mum of good con­di­tion all ter­rain or bet­ter tyres; have proper tow hooks front and rear ( rated for snatch tow­ing) or a tow bar with the tow ball re­moved (all tow balls must be re­moved); must carry proper snatch strap ( lim­ited num­ber avail­able for sale on regis­tra­tion), spade or shovel, fire ex­tin­guisher and first aid kit. Safety belts are to be worn at all times. Pric­ing $ 475 for one ve­hi­cle ( cov­ers two per­sons per ve­hi­cle) $ 180 for ev­ery ad­di­tional adult in the ve­hi­cle $ 80 for a child 12 years and un­der ( max­i­mum of four pas­sen­gers per ve­hi­cle).
