Castrol says CheckYourOil with Murph
Lubricant specialist Castrol has tasked former Supercar ace and now TV pundit Greg Murphy with reminding his fellow Kiwis to CheckYourOil. For more than 10 years, the CheckYourOil programme has been helping New Zealand drivers when making a decision on what oil to top up or do a full oil change for their passenger vehicle. The programme allows vehicle owners to simply enter their vehicle’s licence plate number – on the website or via a text message – and it will instantly recommend the best product and viscosity from the Castrol range. Jayne McEwan, Castrol NZ Trade Marketing Manager, told NZ4WD that choosing the best oil has become a complex task for vehicle owners. The range of choice that is now available in lubricants and the technical jargon that a consumer may face can make it a bit daunting. “CheckYourOil gives consumers the confidence of knowing what the experts would recommend as the best oil for their car, armed simply with their licence plate details. And who better to help them make that choice than racing legend Greg Murphy?” The CheckYourOil database is unique to New Zealand as it includes recommendations for vehicles registered new in New Zealand, as well as the vast majority of Japanese used passenger vehicles popular with Kiwi motorists.
