Exedy’s new Safari Tuff H-D clutch

More recently, as engine outputs have increased and drivers are asking more and more from their vehicles, Exedy has answered the call and released a new line under the Safari Tuff line-up – the Safari Tuff Heavy Duty Clutch. “Our new range of clutches has been built specifically for vehicles with modified ECUs and other performance modifications as well as vehicles that are used in the toughest conditions,” explained Exedy Product Manager, Mark Davis. “They are also perfect for towing a heavy van or boat or in any situation where the transmission of increased torque through the drivetrain is required.” The accompanying graph demonstrates the Safari Tuff Heavy Duty clutch’s superior torque capacity when compared to that of the standard OE clutch and also the already impressive Safari Tuff clutch. “Designed and assembled in Exedy’s Australian facility using quality components from our Japanese factories, the Safari Tuff Heavy Duty clutch kit includes a clutch disc with improved damper springs and high coefficient friction material; coupled with an upgraded Safari Tuff clutch cover resulting in the highest clamping force in the Exedy range,” Mark explained. Importantly, all Safari Tuff Heavy Duty clutch kits also come with an alignment tool, spigot bearing & grease satchel so you have all the tools you need to do the job. To date, Exedy has released Safari Tuff Heavy duty clutch kits for Toyota Land Cruiser, Hilux and Prado applications as well as Nissan Patrol, Mitsubishi Triton and Holden Colorado models.
