TAKE BRAKING SAFETY TO A NEW LEVEL

-

By law, any trailer/load combinations heavier than 2500kg must be fitted with an in-vehicle brake controller with the ability to operate the trailer’s brakes independently of the vehicle in case of sway events.

The Tow-Pro Elite Electric Brake Controller by REDARC offers selectable Proportional or User-controlled trailer braking modes, allowing the user to choose the braking style depending on the road or terrain conditions, vehicle type or driver preference.

Proportional Mode can be used when travelling on bitumen and is great when applying the brakes in a progressive manner. This applies the brakes in a smooth manner and avoids skidding.

Once you’re off-road, however, you’ll want the User-Controlled mode. The control knob can be dialled up or down to suit the terrain when driving. And because the control knob can be fitted neatly in the dash, modes can be easily changed to meet the braking requirements.

Modern dashboards have very limited real estate. The Tow-Pro Elite’s small form factor is designed to be installed behind the dash panel. This overcomes the intrusion of traditional brake controllers into the driver’s leg space and potential interference with lower airbags. With a three-axis accelerometer, the main unit can also be mounted in any orientation and still sense the brake level accordingly.

In addition, the Tow-Pro Elite is

AL-KO ESC and Dexter Sway Control System compatible. This means that the Tow-Pro Elite can aid in a caravan sway situation because the caravan brakes can be independently applied from the vehicle brakes.

REDARC’s Tow-Pro Elite is easy to install and has the power to stop safely and comfortably each and every time. For safety at your fingertips, visit https://www.redarc.co.nz
