CCVC 50th Anniversary celebrations

-

The 50th anniversary year of CCVC has been in planning for a couple of years by some dedicated members (Ralph Dobson, Neil Blackie, John Vruink and Penne Pasta) and they hit the ground running with this Jamboree and coming up with a calendar of anniversary events.

The programme includes running some major events, the first being this Jamboree for Central Zone and later in May hosting the NZFWDA conference this year in Silverstream.

There is also a schedule to re-run some of the old trips that remain popular, although we no longer have access to some Wairarapa properties.

The club has run some winter trips to Australia in the past and there was an idea to go to Oz or even South America but as we know overseas travel is also a thing of the past. At the moment anyway!

You know an event is s going to be big when we have merchandise! And so a line of 50th Anniversary clothing has joined the existing club clothing range. The retro Deadwood Safari T-shirt is particularly nice.

As a result of a call for old photos there will be a book produced and members have already received a glossy calendar showcasing several of the photos. One of the more unusual anniversary events, perhaps, is an attempt to sign up 50 new members, which is progressing well, Farmer Joe signed up during the Jamboree.

It’s all building up to an Anniversary dinner at Labour weekend which will be spectacular because John Vruink has organised brilliant dinners for years.
