Upgrade your truck’s suspension

Ironman 4x4 offers a massive range of components.

-

All four-wheel drive enthusiasts love to get out and away into the real New Zealand.

There is no single solution for the varying needs of 4WD owners and the different driving conditions they encounter.

Ironman 4×4 offers a wide selection of matched components and an integrated range of suspension kits, designs evolved over 50 years of suspension experience.

There are optional components to enhance suspension performance and to correct suspension geometry after a change in ride height – most commonly a ‘lift kit’.

Such components include greasable spring shackles and pins, steering dampers, caster correction kits, trim packers and complete suspension arms.

Coil springs

Ironman 4x4 produces a wide range of coil springs to suit a range of load ratings, all designed to maintain optimum ride height. Both progressive rate and linear rate springs are available to meet original vehicle manufacturer specifications.

Progressive springs increase their rate as the spring compresses, while linear springs maintain a consistent rate throughout their range.

Ironman’s replacement springs undergo specific manufacturing processes to ensure the highest possible quality, including:

CNC cold coil winding ensures consistency and accuracy. This means springs are subjected to less heat during the manufacturing process, which helps maintain the material’s properties and prolongs spring life.

Bar peeling forms the material to an exact size before coiling. This ensures the diameter remains constant and free of flaws along its entire length and surface tension to reduce stress.

All springs are electro-static powdercoated for a durable finish.

Leaf springs

Ironman 4x4 produces a wide range of leaf springs to suit a range of load ratings, all designed to maintain optimum ride height. Leaf springs produced by Ironman 4x4 undergo class leading manufacturing processes to ensure the highest possible quality including:

• Bolted guide clamps for greater flex.

• Anti-friction liners ensures noise free smooth operation.

• Shot peening to manipulate the surface tension of spring materials to reduce stress enhance spring life.

• Additional wraps around the leaf eye to protect from failure.

Torsion bars

Ironman offers a range of uprated torsion bars that feature a higher spring rate to support extra weight of additional accessories such as bullbars, winches and dual battery systems.

Ironman 4x4 Torsion bars produced by Ironman 4x4 undergo class leading manufacturing processes to ensure the highest possible quality, including:

• Stronger than machining alone, forging manipulates steel grain for superior strength and durability.

• Exceeds OEM steel grade for ultra long life and less sag.

• Higher spring rate better supports added accessories and balances front and rear suspension performance.

Each and every Ironman Torsion Bar is X-Ray tested to eliminate risk of breakage due to material flaw.

Torsion Bars are rotationally pre-set in their direction of installation to reduce spring settling. Each bar is marked for left or right fitment.

The usable payload of many 4X4 vehicles today is minimal. Additional basic optional equipment and two or three adult occupants will bring the vehicle close to its legal Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) maximum weight in many cases. Add long-range fuel tanks, bull bars, winches, side steps, roof racks, recovery gear and a payload of camping equipment or an industrial type custom body and the vehicle will almost certainly exceed the original equipment allowable GVM.

Ironman’s GVM-upgraded suspension systems feature matched components for the ultimate in performance, load carrying and handling. The kits are fully track tested with a Certified Automotive Engineering Signatory to achieve maximum stability, braking performance and load handling while still giving operator comfort.

Polyurethane bushes provide precise spring locating and enables lubrication to increase suspension flex and comfort. High density injected moulded polyurethane material ensures precise location and durable bearing surface for leaf springs, making them very durable in hot temperatures whilst providing a comfortable vehicle ride.

Polyurethane bushes are greasable which aids in longer life and ensures smooth ride and quiet operation.

Greasable shackles and pins enable easy re-greasing of polyurethane spring bushes. Quad-Outlet ports distribute grease liberally along the bush surface which enables the bush to conform to irregularities and grip to the eye surface.

All Ironman 4x4 shackles and pins feature a serviceable bolt together construction to ensure make maintenance easy and some includes a third pin positioned to protect the spring in the case of an inversion.
