Mare ready for Telegraph

TOP southern sprinter First Serve is thriving ahead of Saturday’s 1200m Telegraph at Trentham.

The Swiss Ace 4yrold headed north after carrying 62.5kg to beat her rating 85 rivals Waikouaiti, on New Year’s Day, while based in Otago.

‘‘We’re really happy with her. She’s doing everything right,’’ cotrainer Michael Pitman said.

First Serve’s Waikouaiti victory took her record to seven wins from nine starts. The mare had her first look around Trentham when she galloped impressively there on Saturday morning.— NZ Racing Desk.
