Albion 315 for four beat Kaikorai 128 by 187 runs

Jack Harper thumped an undefeated 132 to help Albion top 300 and annihilate Kaikorai by 187 runs at Bishopscourt on Saturday.

Harper cracked 17 fours and two sixes during nearly three hours at the crease. He combined with Otago seamer Sam Wells in a 160run stand for the fourth wicket.

Wells was in fine touch, slamming three sixes and 10 fours on his way to 81 from 74 balls. Opener Taylor Cumberland got the visiting side off to a solid start with 41.

Albion ended up with a formidable 315 for four from its 50 overs. Kaikorai bowlers Adam Flegg (two for 25) and Ryan Whelan (one for 50) avoided going for too many runs.

Talented allrounder Geordie Scott smoked 48 from 34 balls at the top of the innings but the chase quickly petered out once he was removed from the crease. The last wickets fell for just 25 runs.

Spinner Teja Nidamanuru took three for 21 from five overs, and Harper completed a wonderful game with two for five.

CarisDunedin 267 for seven lost to NEV 268 for three by seven wickets

North East Valley openers Masoor Khan and Will Hunter turned a difficult chase into a doddle with a wonderful stand of 141.

Max Chu hit an undefeated 89 to help Carisbrook-Dunedin post 267 for seven.

But Valley overhauled the target with more than five overs spare. Hunter had whacked 95 from 82 deliveries when he was bowled by Otago leg spinner Rhys Phillips. He swatted three sixes and 12 fours to get Valley well ahead.

Khan, who took three for 21 from an excellent 10over spell, kept his wicket intact and had reached 91 when the winning runs were scored.

Phillips finished with two for 43 from his 10 overs, while Taine Bayly was expensive, conceding 64 runs from seven overs.

Green Island 278 for seven beat Taieri 110 by 168 runs

Otago opener Gregor Croudis made a successful return to club cricket with a century to help Green Island outclass Taieri at Sunnyvale.

The lefthander anchored the innings with a knock of 110 from 138 balls.

Volts teammate Christi Viljoen made a valuable contribution with a hardhit 43 and veteran allrounder Mark Joyce scored 32 not out at No 8 to help Green Island reach 287 for seven.

Jarrod Casey was the most successful of the Taieri bowlers, taking three for 42.

Marcus Frost grabbed two for 36 from 10 overs and also batted nicely, scoring 50 in an otherwise disappointing innings in which Taieri collapsed to be all out for 110.

Only two other players scored 10 or more runs.

Seamers Dion Lobb and Blair Soper grabbed three wickets apiece and Joyce nabbed the other four.
