The Milton King Crabs convinc ingly beat the Kai Kings to take their spot in the South Otago 40over final next week.

The King Crabs travelled to Kaitangata and had a comfortable 73run win.

The King Crabs batted first and scored 215 for four off their 40 overs.

Opening batsman Jerrym Frost once again led from the front with a chanceless knock of 84.

He hit nine fours and a six. Dylan Greer notched up his third halfcentury of the season with a lucky knock of 57 not out. Greer was dropped five times by the Kings fielders.

Greg Webber also had a useful cameo towards the end, finishing on 30 not out.

Luc Thomson was the pick of the Kai bowlers, returning figures of one for 20 off his eight overs. He bowled 32 dot balls.

In reply the Kings were bowled out for 142 in the 39th over.

Jerrym Frost, again was the main contributor with the ball, sealing man of the match honours.

He had figures of three for 24 off his eight overs.

Greg Webber and Ben Cameron also took three wickets each.

Experienced Kai batsmen Blair Benington (41) and Brad Storer (44) were the only runscorers of note.

Once that partnership was broken, Kaitangata lost momentum and the run rate started to climb.

They had to chase the game from there and could not do it.

The Waihola Swans beat the Owaka Bandits yesterday to reach the final in their first year back in the competition. The Swans batted first and made a disappointing 113, all out in the 32nd over. Dylan Bungard top scored with 27. Josh Huddleston was the best Owaka bowler, with figures of four for 33 off eight overs.

In reply, the Bandits were bowled for a dismal 84 in the 30th over. Dylan Bungard was once again the chief destroyer, with figures of three for 15 off eight overs. Bandits Captain Tony Miller top scored with 22 not out, but it fell well short of the target.

Waihola will host Milton in the final this week.
