Bennett visits Solomons

Wellington: Police Minister Paula Bennett is visiting the Solomon Islands as the collective response to its political instability comes to an end.

She arrived in Honiara yesterday to mark the drawdown of the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands.

It was created in 2003 as conflict threatened stability in the Pacific Island nation.

Ms Bennett said New Zealand would continue to support Solomon Islanders through police and other programmes.
