Police find car crashed

WHILE police were looking for a silver car reported to be dangerously overtaking on blind corners and speeding in Central Otago yesterday, they found the vehicle crashed upside down.

Police in the Roxburgh and Alexandra area were responding to complaints from concerned members of the public when they were alerted at 5.45pm to the same car, which had rolled and had come to rest in the middle of State Highway 8.

Both occupants were uninjured, and the road was blocked for about an hour while the scene was cleared, police said.

The 21yearold male driver was arrested and charged with dangerous driving. He is due to appear in the Queenstown District Court today.
