Bali acts on dog meat
Jakarta: Authorities in Bali say they are trying to curb the sale of dog meat after an investigation by an Australian animal protection group.
Animals Australia, after a fourmonth long investigation, revealed that dogs were strangled, beaten or poisoned for sale as food in Bali’s restaurants and street stalls.
It said some foreign tourists unwittingly consumed dog meat.
A spokesman for the Bali governor’s office said authorities were mounting an information campaign against eating dog.
