Things is coming back, and this season’s going to Eleven. At ComicCom last month, cast and creators talked about the Emmynominated freshman year and what’s to come in the popular 1980sset Netflix show returning October 27.

The only hate mail to the streaming service? ‘‘The marshmallow body on David Harbour, enough of that,’’ joked Harbour, whose character Chief Hopper ‘‘gets to do some sexy things’’ in Season 2.

The new trailer debuted and it is full of the retro goodness that people love with the show, including Ghostbusters costumes, a Dragon’s Lair arcade game and a remixed version of Michael Jackson’s Thriller with Vincent Price voiceover.

The kids and the town of Hawkins are still recovering from the events of the first season, including young Will (Noah Schnapp), who survived a trip to the otherworldly ‘‘Upside Down’’.

‘‘Compared to last season, Will shows more bravery,’’ Schnapp says. ‘‘You’ll definitely learn how the Upside Down affected Will as you get into his storyline.’’

Also making her grand return: Eleven, the psychic heroine played by Season 1 breakout Millie Bobby Brown. She recalled having issues crying in the initial run of episodes.

‘‘I feel like I’m a happy person in real life. I need five minutes to get into the zone,’’ Brown said. It was hard to keep a straight face with teen boys. They play pranks and tell jokes when I’m doing an emotional scene. Overall it was alright.’’

Another cult character was Shannon Purser, a recent Emmy nominee for her role as the teen girl who met a nasty fate.

When asked if her character was returning, Purser’s answer was no, but ‘‘there will be justice for Barb’’. — TCA
