Nadia Reid album ranked No 2
PORT Chalmers singersongwriter Nadia Reid’s second album is better than offerings by Kendrick Lamar, Queens of the Stone Age and The National.
That is according to Mojo magazine, which ranked Reid’s album Preservation No 2 on its list of the 50 best albums of 2017.
Mojo said Reid’s album was full of ‘‘heartbreak, wise introspection, lyrical observation, fluid folk guitars and hookfilled pop smarts’’.
Reid is not the only New Zealander to make the list’s top 10 — Aldous Harding’s Party ranked at No 10. Mojo called it ‘‘magical’’ and ‘‘eccentric’’.
Albums by A Tribe Called Quest, Sleaford Mods and The Moonlandingz also made the top 10, which was topped by LCD Soundsystem’s American Dream. — NZME.
