Second arrest after taxi driver shot

WELLINGTON: A 17yearold girl from Lower Hutt has appeared in court on charges relating to the shooting of a taxi driver in Wellington.

Alem Tesema was shot in the shoulder last Saturday night after a dispute over a fare from the central city to Miramar.

Yesterday, police said the woman appeared in the Wellington District Court on Thursday charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and unlawful possession of a firearm.

It was the second arrest in the case.

Dylan Nuku (26) was arrested at a house in Strathmore overnight on Tuesday and charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Nuku was remanded in custody until his next court appearance on January 26. — NZN
