ABSolute Health & Fitness heads to awards
ABSOLUTE Health & Fitness in South Dunedin has some exciting things happening at the moment! Over the weekend, the gym’s owner, Richard McKinlay, headed to Auckland for the New Zealand Exercise Industry Awards to compete as a finalist in the ‘‘Independent Gym of the Year’’ category. He was joined by one of the gym’s personal trainers, Matt McKay, who is a finalist in the ‘‘Personal Trainer of the Year’’ category.
We haven’t caught up with them since the awards, however, Richard told us before he left for Auckland that he was excited to be a finalist again.
The gym was also a finalist in the 2016 New Zealand Exercise Industry Awards, receiving the highest customerservice rating out of all the gyms which entered across New Zealand. Richard equates the high customerservice rating to the fact that the staff at ABSolute Health & Fitness really make an effort to ‘‘gel’’ with their members and get to know them, and their individual needs.
Matt McKay may have only been in the personaltraining industry for two years, yet has enjoyed great success in that short timeframe, last year being named ‘‘Upandcoming Personal Trainer of the Year’’ at the awards.’
‘‘I’m really excited to be back for another year, this time competing in the ‘Trainer of the Year’ category. It will be great to see what the competition is like across New Zealand,’’ Matt said.
Other exciting developments at ABSolute is that they have a new beauty therapist, Kirsten Williams, on board, who offers a full range of services and will be introducing some exciting new ones.
ABSolute Health & Fitness also offers a variety of supplementary services, including free childcare, which runs from Monday to Friday from 9am to noon. They also have three ACC-accredited physiotherapists on site during weekdays.
